What is It?

The workshop is a single class lasting about two hours that begins at 2 PM on the third Sunday of every month.

What is covered?

We will talk a little bit about what the art is and is not as well as a bit of history. We will describe how aikido is taught and learned and take everybody through a basic class. The majority of the session will consist of the demonstration of the principals of aikido as expressed through physical technique. Everybody will have a chance to try some of the throws and pins after we show a bit about how to fall safely. Most importantly, we will happily answer any questions.

How much does it cost?

The price for the class is $5.

How do I sign up?

Send us an email or call 412-521-0338. Please note, preregistration is required. We only need one person to hold a workshop, but if nobody signs up, we won't be there!

Do I need any special equipment or clothing?

Not at all. If you have a martial arts gi (white, please) you are welcome to wear that. If not, wear sweat pants and a loose t-shirt. You will be participating, so dress for it.

Where can I find more information on Aikido?
