Second Floor Studios

Siver necklace

We have four studios on the second floor of the main building above the gallery. Along with the ground floor space we provide working (not living) spaces for artists. In addition to using their studios, our artists are welcome to participate in the running of the gallery, which is available for group and solo exhibitions.

The rent for all the second floor studios includes utilities and extra storage space on the third floor. The bathroom on the second floor has a working toilet but is currently under renovation - a much nicer facility is down stairs. The bathroom does have a work sink available to tennats though.

Studio #3

This space has great light from windows in two walls and a skylight. It is equipped with a slop sink and features a loft storage area and exposed beams (great for haning lights, etc.). 225 sq. ft., $250/month.

Studio #4

This large space (250 sq. ft.) has one large south facing window, a work sink and a closet. Much of the wall space is covered with homasote, a pressed paper board great for tacks and small nails. Many of our artists have used this system to paint on canvas held directly to the walls. $275/mo.

Studio #5

Two large windows look out on to Butler Street and provide good afternoon light in this 250 sq. ft. studio. Over the history of the Slaughterhouse Gallery this has been our most desired rental space, for the light. $275/mo.

Studio #6

Our smallest space, this studio is barely 100 sq. ft. Perfect for the artist with a limited budget it features one great window and, like its larger neighbor, has great afternoon light. We have had many artists make good use of this space, including a potter and several painters. $125/mo.

Please Note: As of Spring 2016 we are no longer renting studio spaces in anticipation of a major renovation.
